Application Tips
New York is the most competitive waiver state. Slots fill within the first 2-3 weeks of the federal fiscal year (October 1). If you miss the window, you wait an entire year. Upstate New York (Buffalo, Syracuse, Albany, Adirondack region) has significantly better chances than NYC metro. NYC boroughs (Bronx, Brooklyn) are possible through FQHCs but extremely competitive.
