About this program
Medical students enrolled at qualifying schools in the United States and Puerto Rico are eligible to apply for guest student elective study at Indiana University School of Medicine. MD or DO students interested in taking electives at IU School of Medicine can visit the AAMC/VSLO website for information and how to apply. IU School of Medicine also offers the Pathway to Indiana Visiting Elective program for fourth year medical students and qualified third year medical students attending a U.S. medical school including U.S. territories. In addition to the VSLO application, guest students must submit the following application materials at some point during the process: Immunization Form — IU School of Medicine only accepts the AAMC Standardized Immunization Form, no exceptions. Test Scores — Applicants must upload a copy of their USMLE STEP 1 or COMLEX LEVEL 1 board score. Some IU School of Medicine departments will not review guest student applications without this information. Application Processing Fee — An application processing fee of $60 is due upon the guest student's acceptance of an elective offer.
