About this program
Thank you for your interest in senior clinical training at Tulane University School of Medicine. Tulane is pleased to offer clinical clerkships to senior-year students of other U.S. medical schools, including member schools of the Association of American Medical Colleges. We are NOT able to accommodate students from medical schools located outside of the United States. Visiting Students must be seniors in a four-year curriculum when the clerkship is taken and must have completed the equivalent of Tulane's basic clerkships in internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, family medicine, psychiatry, neurology, and obstetrics and gynecology.
NOTE ON NEUROLOGY: A student's home institution must verify on their VSLO verifications tab that they will have completed neurology before their Tulane rotation begins: the home institution must include start date, end date, and weeks of duration on the VSLO verifications tab. This is a requirement for all students from all schools and applies to students applying for a rotation in any specialty at Tulane. If your school does not have a neurology requirement, you may complete a neurology elective instead. There are no exceptions.

- Submit your application through the AAMC VSLO platform.Your home Dean's office handles the submission. Include the Dean's letter of permission and any required documentation.
- Wait for the program to assign your rotation.Lead time varies by demand. Programs review on a rolling or cohort schedule (see Lead time tile above).
- Complete pre-arrival onboarding.Health clearance, malpractice attestation, immunization documentation, and orientation are coordinated by the program before your start date.
