About this program
The Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Interventional Radiology Visiting Observership is designed for practicing radiologists, residents, fellows, medical students, and physicians from surgical or medical specialties with an interest in image-guided interventions. The page is unusually explicit that this is not a pathway for aspiring residency applicants: BIDMC states that the rotation is not designed to support pre-residency endeavors, which is a material signal for any IMG hoping to earn a residency LOR. Observerships run one to six months during the academic year. Tuition is $2,000 per month, payable on acceptance and explicitly non-refundable. Applicants send a completed application, CV, personal statement, and three letters of recommendation to Katelyn Sullivan at [email protected]. BIDMC will not sponsor a J-1 for this course of study, and international observers must secure their own tourist visa.
