About this program
Weill Cornell Medicine's Office of International Medical Student Education runs a dedicated visiting-student pathway for final-year medical students enrolled at schools outside the US and Canada. All applications must be coordinated through the AAMC VSLO platform — direct contact with clinical departments is grounds for disqualification. Electives are available in Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Dermatology, Anesthesiology, and more; maximum elective time is two months. Tuition is $1,500 for a 2-week elective, $3,000 for a 4-week elective, plus a $300 non-refundable application fee. Recent cohorts have included students from Austria, Australia, Brazil, India, Italy, Jordan, Peru, Philippines, Pakistan, Poland, Syria, Germany, Saudi Arabia, and others. The program is structured as a genuine clinical experience, not an observership.
