About this program
Henry Ford Health hosts visiting medical students for clinical electives and audition rotations through AAMC VSLO across its Detroit campus and satellites in Wyandotte, Jackson, Macomb, and Warren. Non-base-clerkship students must apply via VSLO unless they attend one of the Primary Academic Partner schools (MSUCOM, KCOM, CMU). 2026 applications opened February 9, 2026, and rotation start dates run from August 3, 2026 through June 1, 2027. Each visiting student may participate in one elective rotation (for exploration or additional clinical experience) and one audition rotation (aimed at a specific residency program). A $125 administrative fee per elective is charged at Henry Ford Hospital Detroit; Henry Ford Warren requires a refundable $75 processing fee paid only by money order. Personal health insurance is mandatory, and students must produce full immunization documentation.
